What to Practice This Month
February 2025
I love any reason to celebrate love and joy and happiness and that is what this month is all about to me! I am so glad that we found each other and I hope you have the most beautiful month ahead of you ♥️
The membership gives you access to hundreds of drills, skills, and choreography videos for all levels. Each month I give you a few things to focus on to help guide your practice, but you can also move through the content as you wish. If you don’t have access already, you can get a membership at ThatNicoleFiore.com or on my YouTube Channel. Although both Memberships contain the same content, they are separate. With the Site Membership, everything is displayed on its own page and you can track your progress throughout each section! You can check out all of the drills here, skills here, and choreography here!
Drills, skills, choreography, and so much more!! This membership contains over 200 Tutorials with more added regularly. Drills are created to strengthen specific muscles for skating and skills are labeled by level to make learning accessible for all levels. Choreography is available in Beginner/ Intermediate as well as Advanced and can be done on or off skates!
Drill: Core Mobility
We have a brand new drill this month, focusing on our core mobility. I consistently talk about three things: rolling our shoulders back, bending our knees, and tightening our core.
Core stability, strength, and mobility are not just important in skating; they’re extremely important in our every-day lives. Your core holds you up, allows you to sit properly, stand properly, etc. Something that we aren’t really used to in regular life but need to develop for skating is rotating our core. This month’s drills videos is short, sweet, and to the point. I recommend doing it multiple times throughout the week in order to make it a natural movement.

Skill: Outer Forward 3-Turn
Our skill this month is the Outer Forward 3-turn. I recently posted a video on Instagram and some of the comments are calling my “turns” “pivots”. This has come up in conversation with a few of my private lessons recently too. Whatever you want to call them, this is your main one-foot turn! The turn/ pivot we are working on is called an Outer Forward 3-turn in artistic skating and goes from an outer forward edge to an inner back edge. This is the first one-foot turn that I recommend learning.
In our turn section of the skills page, we have SO many turns to choose from. We have 3-turns in all of their different forms, brackets, rockers, and counters. I am such a nerd about turns. I love talking about them, learning more about them, teaching them, and practicing them. So, if you have any questions, please let me know. I’m happy to chat!
Our core is super important when we are doing turns…and when we are rotating in any sort of way. We have to learn to trigger each side of our core in an instant which is not a super normal skill in life. For example, if I am going to rotate to my left, I want to trigger the left side of my core to start the rotation. When I finish the turn I need to trigger the right side of my core to stop the rotation. The core mobility drill and the 3-turn work really well together. If you are ever struggling with keeping your body up, go back to that core mobility drill.

Choreography: Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!
Our choreography this month is one of my favorite songs to dance to and one of my favorite pieces of choreography that I have created. It is to “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” by Abba! Very disco-y, very 70s, and always a blast to skate to. There is a Beginner/ Intermediate piece of choreography as well as an Advanced!
I went to New York a few months ago and I filmed some of this choreography in front of what used to be Studio 54. It felt so right to be on that street and skating. The Beginner/ Intermediate has a lot of arms and some body movement with minimal skating, so it’s great for everyone! The Advanced has a version of a 3-turn, a grapevine if you wish to do it, and a lot of fun disco moves. As always, feel free to adjust the choreography to fit you. You can always add things in and adapt it over time as you progress.

Workshops, Lessons & Progress:
We still have a few spots available for this month’s workshop on February 8th in Huntington Beach! We will be working on Heel to Heel Skills like the spread eagle, ina bauer, side surf, and transitions.
Make sure you send your progress to me throughout the month and especially throughout the year. I know that recording yourself can be a little scary, but I promise you that when you look back at your videos six months, a year, five years later, you are going to be amazed at how far you've come. All of the little things add up over time!
If you would like to submit your progress for our Community Progress Video, submit your vertical video here. Submissions are due on the last day of each month.
If you are practicing on Instagram, please tag me and #quadsociety! I love to see and share your progress! Lastly, don’t forget about the wonderful community on Discord. Everything is better with friends!
Please don’t hesitate to reach out and let me know if you would like more help. You can book in-person private lessons or online private lessons here!
